I was approached by TED and co_ed to design a colorful and friendly piece that told the story of how our beds evolved through out history. We decided to use isometric platforms and rich colors to create small, bright dioramas that held the essence of the period we were portraying. We combined this with thicker strokes to give it a more cartoony look.
